Peterbald Cat Temperament and Lifespan

Peterbald is a breed of fine, elegant hairless domestic cats. They have an excellent character, they are smart, agile and very attached to their owners. Petersburg Sphinx is not conflict, is quite compatible with other animals living in the house, and patient with children who require more attention.

It doesn't know what is grudge and it is very responsive to affection. This is not a cat that "walks by itself" Peterbald cats are very sociable and equally fond of all family members. The life expectancy of this breed is about 12-15 years.

Peterbald Cat Colors, Shedding, Full Size and Average Weight

The size of adult Sphynx Peterbald is medium. The body is elongated. This means that the shoulders and hips are of the same width. The weight of the cats is up to 5 kg, rarely it can be heavier than this.

The kittens can be in a variety of colors. However, among the entire palette of colors the following colors are especially appreciated: cream, chocolate, lilac, color-point. These cats are rarely in one color. Completely black, gray, red or white color is found occasionally. Peterbald kitten is likely to be artistically painted in a variety of spots.

Petersburg Sphynx is not always completely naked. There are such types:

Brush - at birth babies are covered with hair, but growing up, may leave it.

Brush Point - the kitten is shorter than that of a brush, fur, fluffy tail toddler. But in the adult cat thick coat is only on face and limbs (sometimes on the tail). The body of the Sphinx is completely laid bare or covered with a thin flock.

Velour - in infancy cats have wool, but later in the tail as it can stay on the legs and face, and may disappear completely, only to "socks".

Flock - a kitten with no eyebrows or mustache, wool cover is no more than 2 mm.

A Peterbold without coat- this type of cats has the special skin secretions which create the feeling of being naked rubber body. Peterbald with wool - kitten has ordinary mustache and hair.

Petersburg sphinxes are talkative breed. They talk a lot, and this point should be taken into account if you are interested in the breed.

They have an instinct of a hunter. Peterbald cat is curious, interested in the world around it. It is pointless to leave it in a closed room - Sphinx will magically get out of it to show the owner how much it loves him or to explore the outside world of another room as soon as possible.
